By the time OPTIMA's 2016 Search for the Ultimate Street Car series converged on NOLA Motorsports Park, eight events had already been run and much of the field had been filled. However, there were still very tight points battles being waged and several competitors making last-ditch attempts to qualify for the 2016 OPTIMA Ultimate Street Car Invitational.
In the GTV Class, Mike Maier's Ford Mustang won the event, but it had previously-qualified earlier in the season, giving Paul Wilke's 1970 Buick GS the OUSCI entry. Chad Langley's 2015 ZO6 won the GTS Class and OUSCI invitation, while Steve Kepler's Nissan GT-R became the first Class Champion to lock up their season title. Dave Thomas' 2016 Corvette received the K&N Spirit of the Event invitation.
Mike DuSold's '67 Camaro won the GTL Class, while Robert DeuPree's '09 ZO6 earned an OUSCI invite. Bryan Johnson's 2013 Camaro continued it's dominance of the GT Class, while Matt DeReus' '03 BMW M3 captured the OUSCI invite.
