We're just a few days away from the first Ultimate Street Car Association event at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca and the first qualifying event for the 2014 OPTIMA Ultimate Street Car Invitational. USCA events will cover the country, from Portland to Sebring, from Laguna Seca to Pittsburgh and they will all be televised on MAVTV and available to stream for free on the OPTIMA Network on Roku.
The construction of the OUSCI field is an exciting process and one we look forward to every year. We're just a few days away from the first Ultimate Street Car Association event at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca and the first qualifying event for the 2014 OPTIMA Ultimate Street Car Invitational. USCA events will cover the country, from Portland to Sebring.
Competitors will be able to take their points from their best three events in an effort to get an invite to the 2013 OUSCI. That will encourage and reward competitors who run in more than one event, but won't unfairly allow someone who has the resources to run all ten events to automatically get invited, just because they showed up.
While registration is open (and space is available) for Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca, Texas Motor Speedway and Daytona, it's still too early to tell how many competitors will run multiple events or if any will run the full series (we've heard from a few who have said that is their plan). MAVTV will be filming all the events, so the folks who do run the full season will get plenty of exposure for their sponsors. In fact, MAVTV has already begun filming some interview segments for competitors who have signed up for the Laguna Seca event. Are you ready for the action in 2014? Even if your car isn't ready, be sure to get out to a USCA event and see the possibilities. You can sign up to compete at www.DriveOPTIMA.com
