Most car and truck batteries use recycled lead, which is fine, but it doesn't perform as well or last as long as batteries that use 99.99% pure virgin lead, like OPTIMA Batteries. Additionally, most lead-acid batteries use weaker tombstone welds to connect their cells internally, but OPTIMA Batteries use thick, robust cast straps. Casting straps onto the top of our cells is a more expensive process, but we do it because it maximized battery performance and helps minimize a common point of failure in batteries.

On  the lithium side, lots of battery brands will talk about using "A" quality cells and some will even mention that they are matched and balanced. Even fewer will call out that their cells have UL and perhaps even IEC (European) certification. However, OPTIMA's ORANGETOP lithium batteries have UL and IEC certification at the cell level and for the battery system as a whole, which is an important distinction for safety reasons. ORANGETOP batteries are also IP67 rated against water and dust intrusion, which is important if you use them in a boat that goes in the water or in a motorcycle, UTV or ATV that does down dusty roads or trails.

There are a lot of other great features and benefits packed into these batteries and we'd invite you to take a closer look!
